My exposition

I am a 29 year old Texas native who’s landed in Boston, MA. And I took the scenic route to New England.

When I was 19 years old, after an 8-month intensive therapy journey for Borderline Personality Disorder, I spent a year studying Dance at Texas A&M University, still navigating my symptoms, but something had shifted. I didn’t want to just live -- I wanted to live my dream. I was so dramatic, so my dream followed suit: I wanted to move to London and study Fashion Journalism.

And so, I did. By the time I was 20, I was across the Atlantic, enrolled at the University for the Creative Arts in Epsom. I learned how to tell stories in every shape — interview pieces, long-form features, human profiles, runway reviews. I learned (and loved) fashion theory, and refined my way with words. I graduated with First Class Honours and a 100-page magazine I created called Temper Tantrum.

I started my career at a wellness brand called Innermost, a scrappy start-up where I managed to wear every creative hat: social and community editor, content writer, marketing support, even graphic designer. I learned to be resourceful and nimble, while never, ever sacrificing quality (I was my own editor a lot of the time). But after five years and a global pandemic, I felt ready to find my way home.

At least closer to home. New England had always quietly calling me. I grew up watching Hallmark movies with my mom and hearing my aunt tell tales of her time in Boston. Now, I’m here writing full-time as the Copywriter at Tracksmith, where I get to blur the line between prose and product copy.

I’ve found my profession with purpose, and my place with my passion.
